Birdie
Safe PlaceTwo sisters find a wounded bird in their back yard and decide to heal it. In their imaginary world they set sail on a boat to Africa, meeting frightening wild animals and smart snails. They make it rain and grow wings that help them fly up into the sky. In their journey they rediscover themselves, each meeting the other.
The play with two performers and a puppet, presents the delicate relationship between sisters, imagination and the power of compassion.
The play also has a “sensitive version” during which audience members can leave, walk about and make noises. All behaviors are acceptable, every reaction is a good one, the space is enabling and the audience are requested to refrain from making comments.
