In recent years we have gone from one crisis to the next, from the Corona Virus pandemic, to wars, and we might get the feeling that the only culture we make is for emergencies, that there is no such thing as normality any more, and if we get a glimpse of a normal moment on the horizon, when we might meet friends, then we immediately think something terrible must be about to happen, because we can’t fight our anxieties, as we haven’t yet recovered from the last panic.

So especially for you, just before the festival closes for another year, Mark Down is here with us, artistic director of Blind Summit puppets company from the UK (that created The Table - a puppetry masterpiece showing at the Israel Festival a decade ago). Mark will present a wild and interactive piece exploring what to do in a puppet emergency! He will be joined by a woman who gets stuck in her chair and can’t get out of it! and a couple on their honeymoon, who are so in love that they try to strangle each other!

Deborah Benasouli, jazz singer and actress, will host the evening and will perform with the amazing pianist Katia Toobool.

What for and Why - Cabaret version
Irit Haruvi and Yariv Solomon

A duet of physical theater filled with movement and humor, examining rows and conflict from a mischievous perspective. Using acrobatics and non-verbal communication, a story of trust, balance, compromise and coordination is threaded together on the stage, presenting a physical, comic, and very human world.

Picture the scene...
You're walking home one night (perhaps after a night at the theater) and you see a puppet lying at the side of the road... Would you know what to do?

Well fear not! Puppet-master Mark Down is here to help. In this lecture demonstration he guides you through the ten vital steps you need to know to bring a puppet to life and keep it alive until professional puppeteers can get to the scene and take over.

Funny, informative and life-saving - it's health and safety gone mad!
