On October 7th, I lost the mother of a close friend. Broken by grief I went to Japan, where I was born, to reexamine questions that have accompanied me throughout my life: What is home and belonging, and to what extent am I still Japanese? Awakening family memories and personal experiences of proximity and distance, Japan and Israel, using body and movement, this work studies identity as an ongoing process of change and balance.
