Track for Artists Throughout the Country and in Jerusalem

Track for Artists Throughout the Country and in Jerusalem:

Track 1 – Independent Project – Create a New Project for the Adloyada Premiere

Guidelines:

Create a giant puppet or Visual Performance capable of moving on a cart or truck, animated or manipulated by a team of manipulators.

The project must draw inspiration from a child hero or live figure such as those mentioned in the call for proposals.

Each project must operate in two ways:

  1. A moving sculpture/puppet as part of the Adloyada parade.
  2. A theatrical act during the parade stops, including animation, choreography, and a short story from the world of the hero you’ve chosen (up to five minutes).

Budget: 40,000-70,000 NIS* (subject to project and professional board decision).

*The cart/truck, amplification, and electricity have an additional budget and are not part of the development budget.

Prerequisites:

The applicant must be a professional artist/cultural entity/group of artists with experience in building floats / giant puppets.

Each project must be accompanied on the day of the Adloyada by a minimum of 10 manipulators/actors/puppeteers.

Projects must run up to five minutes.

Projects must incorporate elements of mechanical or manual animation.

Storage capabilities and workspace are required for creating the sculpture/puppet (a workspace will be available in Jerusalem, near Liberty Bell Park, two weeks before the Adloyada).

The project must debut at the Adloyada premiere (existing projects follow a different submission track).
