Pandora
Evenings for Adults and YouthPandora is a collective of independent artists with an experimental stage for visual theater and puppet/object theatre. This unique stage acts as a crucible for the artists’ work, allowing the artists to create in a supportive and fertile environment.
The group is comprised of some ten multidisciplinary artists, all graduates of the School of Visual Theater, who together produce and conduct monthly evenings that broaden the contemporary puppet theater scene. These Pandora evenings provide the various artists with a stage and lab for their artistic experiments, as well as giving the audience a rare glimpse into the various stages of the creative process.
Pandora’s studio in Jerusalem’s Katamonim neighborhood is supported by the Jerusalem Municipality and the New Spirit organization. This serves as the group’s rehearsal and work space and facilitates a fresh, innovative encounter with the public and community.
Pandora takes part in various events in Jerusalem and collaborates with local organizations and institutions. Its members are working artists who perform at numerous festivals in Israel and worldwide.
Pandora was founded as a professional platform for young, recently-graduated artists by Dalia Yaffe-Maayan (The Train Theater, Jerusalem) and Amit Drori (School of Visual Theater, Jerusalem), in collaboration with Shahar Marom (Hanut Theater, Tel Aviv).
